My dolls begin as a 2D artwork I create in Adobe Illustrator. At the same time, I work with pencil and paper to create an original doll template. Once I’m happy with the doll body form, I adapt my artwork to conform to my doll body pattern. I print this result onto cotton fabric. Then, I hand sew my printed fabric doll pattern into a 3D form and add a variety of colorful and textured yarn hair. My dolls may be simple in form, but the beauty lies in the intricate details I design into the dolls—from faux lace details and tattoos, to bold, original, patterned undergarments.
